Newsletter Aug 24

  Morah Aronowitz’s Judaic Newsletter
4 Elul 5772/Aug 24 2012
We have had a great start to the year. We have all been really busy learning all about what we do in our school and in our classroom. We are learning what to do when we arrive at school in the morning, what we do when we come into my classroom, how to line up in the hallway and lots more.  Parents, if you could please help your child learn the following procedures by discussing them with your child that would be very helpful. 1) We first put our backpacks away (KB-Morah Aronowitz, KA-Morah Rachel) 2) we take out our apple and frog folders from our back pack and we put them away in the right places. 3) We take out our mitzvah notes from the ziplock bag and put it in the blue basket. 4) We put up our picture for attendance 5) we take out out money for tzedakah 6) we go and sit down and get ready for davening. I know this is a lot but in no time they will know it perfectly.
Some of the fun things we did this week :
1)      We learned how to recognize and write our Hebrew names. We played lots of games like hot and cold, and the children had to identify their Hebrew name. We wrote our name with cheerios and then got to eat them. We practiced connecting our name with dots.
2)      We worked really hard on a “get to know me” packet, where each child drew a picture of his family and a picture in his favorite color, colored in his favorite foods and lots more.  On Thursday and today we got to present our packet to the class.
3)      Moreh Dror has been coming in every morning to blow the shofar. We are learning the different sounds of the Shofar.
Some friendly reminders
-         - Please send Tzedakah money with your child. They will keep it in their cubbies and take out one penny a day.
-          -Please use the shofar cut outs on which to write the mitzvah notes and put them in the ziplock bag provided in  the apple folder.
We are looking forward to a great year!!!!
Have a great Shabbat
Morah Aronwitz and Morah Naomi
